We would like to inform you about the introduction of a rate limiter on the MALL API. Please note that even if you are using a different type of connection than the API, you may be affected by the limits if you are using, for example, an add-on to retrieve order data, etc.

The Affiliate Rate limiter sets the maximum number of API calls you can make in a single day. We describe the specific amounts of each limit in more detail in our Knowledge Base in the link at the end of this email. We have introduced this initiative primarily in an effort to eliminate unnecessary repeat calls to our API. For example, complete order lists, including orders already delivered and invoiced, multiple times per hour or updating products one at a time and not using bulk endpoints to update availability. This optimization is being implemented to improve stability, responsiveness and data rewriting of MALL Partner systems.

What does this mean for you?

If any of your call methods exceed or approach our limits, MALL will contact you to request an adjustment. This communication is directed to the contacts marked as TECH and MANAGER in your portal. Please check with the persons concerned whether they have received an email from MALL on this subject.

If we haven't reached you yet, we recommend you to carefully read our new article on Recommended connection to MALL Partner API under the link below and adapt your implementation according to the recommended practices. This will ensure the most efficient use of our API.

The specific number of API calls you will have available per day can be found in the partner portal here, including an overview of the current state of use.

Currently, the limits are informative for you so that you have enough time to implement the adjustments. So please adjust your connection according to our recommendations by 1 September 2021 at the latest to avoid any overages and restrictions on your calls. The limits were set based on tracking standard and correctly connected partners.
