Content checker is an automated tool for checking products on the MALL website that can help you improve the quality of your content. This tool identifies suspicious content in each web category and returns alerts if a product is significantly different from the rest of the category.
Content:
Using the Content checker, we check the following main attributes:
- Parameters - insufficiently filled product parameters
- Poor description - the product description is significantly different from the rest of the category
- Short description - product description is too short
- Box Type - pack size (big box / small box) does not match the rest of the category
- Image - the main product photo is significantly different (shape, color) from the rest of the category
- Price - price is too high / too low for the rest of the category
Instructions for sending feedback
Partners are emailed a list of their products (in .xlsx format) from the MALL.cz website that Content Checker has identified as problematic.
The table contains the following columns:
- Mall Product Id = Product identifier on the MALL website
- Internal Product Id = product identifier used by the partner
- Product Url = url of the product on the MALL website
- Category Path = category in which the product is listed on the MALL website
- Alert List = a list of alerts (errors) that need to be addressed for a given product
- Alert Description List = a detailed description of what potential problems the Content Checker has identified for the product
- False alerts list = a field where you can list which alerts you think are marked incorrectly (see below for details)
Since the report is automatically generated, it may incorrectly flag a product that has some attributes set correctly. In that case, in the "False alerts list" field, list those alert names from the "Alert List" column that you think are not incorrect and therefore will not be corrected.
Example:
- The product has the following alerts in the "Alert List" column "Image, Parameters, Description does not match"
- It is classified in the correct category
- The description is mistakenly entered in another language (see below for instructions on how to correct it)
- Missing parameters TYPE_OF_HOOVER and SYSTEM_POWER_SUPPLY (see below for repair instructions)
- The product picture is correct
Your procedure will be as follows:
- Add parameters and correct description
- In the "False alerts list" field, type "Image"
- Send the completed file back to us at content.checker@mallgroup.com and we'll enter the information into the internal system. This will ensure that the Image is no longer reported as an alert for the product.
Before checking the attributes listed below, please make sure the product is in the correct category. For example, an incorrect IMAGE attribute probably indicates a misclassification. Also, pay attention to the correct classification of the accessories, e.g. the vacuum cleaner bag does not belong in the Vacuum Cleaners category. For more information, see the article Product appearance requirements.
List of checked attributes:
Box Type
Here the indicated product size in a given category. For example, if a product marked as SmallBox appears in the built-in oven category (where BigBox size clearly dominates), it will be marked as suspicious and added to the statistics.
Alert: Big box in the category where there are small boxes (or vice versa)
How to fix by connection type:
If you are using Manual connection in the MALL Partner Portal via the product detail to Edit by and select a size in the Basic tab.

For MALL XML Feed it is necessary to edit the element in the product feed PACKAGE_SIZE.
If you are using API connection it is necessary to modify the element in the product structure PACKAGE_SIZE.
Poor description / Short description
Here, the system compares the product description against other products in a particular category when the product description is completely missing, too short, incorrect (e.g. it is in a different language, contains HTML tags), or does not match the rest of the category (typically if it is miscategorized, does not contain keywords for the category).
Alert: Inadequate product description (e.g. does not contain keywords, is in another language, contains HTML)
How to fix by connection type:
If you are using manual connection we recommend to add / extend short and long description to the specific product in the product detail in the Basic tab.
Basic points for long text:
- Title in the structure Brand + product name
- Detailed product information in a structured form ideally with keywords embedded (per category)
- Specify parameters such as material, composition, performance, colour, size (for fashion size charts), etc.
- Max. 13000 characters
- Plain text in the local language
- Can be pictures and instructional video (no ads)
- Must not contain links to website or email, partner services, warranty or shipping information, product variant selection in a note (MALL does not have a note in the order)
- Statutory information (warnings for chemicals, ingredients for fashion).

For MALL XML Feed it is necessary to modify the element in the product feed LONGDESC (long description).
For API the connection needs to be modified in the product structure of the element LONGDESC.
Parameters
Important parameters are missing here (i.e., the parameters that customers in a given category most often use to filter in that category). In the excel file we sent you, you will find those important parameters listed for each product with this alert.
Alert: Important product parameters are missing. Mandatory parameters are X, Y, Z
How to fix according to the type of connection:
For manual connection it is necessary to fill in as much data as possible in the product detail in the Parameters tab.

For MALL XML Feed it is necessary to add an element to the product feed PARAM.
For API it is necessary to add an element to the product feed PARAMETERS.
Important: It is only possible to add parameters and values that are assigned to the category. The complete list of parameters and values for each category can be found in the MALL Partner Portal in the section Category.
If a parameter is used incorrectly or if a non-existent parameter is used, the product for the MALL XML Feed and API connection will be deleted.
Price
Here the average price of a specific product is checked. If the price is significantly higher or lower than the typical price in that category, you will receive an alert. Typically this is for miscategorized products, but it can also be a misprice.
How to fix according to the type of connection:
For manual connection via the product detail, in the Basic tab, you will be taken to the product editing, where you can edit the price.

For MALL XML Feed it is necessary to modify the element in the product feed PRICE.
For API the connection needs to be modified in the product structure of the element PRICE.
Image
This compares the main product photo (shape, color, etc.) with photos of other products in the category.
Alert: The image is different from the rest of the category
As mentioned at the beginning of the article, a mislabeled image probably points to the wrong category. First it checks the category.
How to fix according to the type of connection:
For manual connection in the product detail, in the Basic tab, you will get to the end of the page where you can edit the images. If one of the images does not meet the requirements, you must upload a new, corresponding image and, if necessary, mark it as the main image again.
Photos must be properly cropped (entire product must be shown), on a white or no background. Must not be a lifestyle photo.

For MALL XML Feed it is necessary to edit the element in the product feed MEDIA.
For API connected, it is necessary to modify in the product structure the element MEDIA.
Important:
- format must be JPEG, PNG or GIF
- size max 2 MB and resolution 2000px x 2000px
- size min 100KB
- The URL of the changed image must not be the same, it must also change
- We do not accept spaces or characters with punctuation in the URL address
