In the following article you will find a description of how categories, conditions, parameters for individual categories and parameter values work, as well as where you can find this more detailed information.

Placing the product in the correct category is a necessary condition for successful sales on MALL/Mimovrste.

Categories, parameters and values

Categories and set of parameters

Our categories are predefined and each has its own unique ID. For each category ID, we have an assigned set of parameters, which contains additional parameters (used for searching) and can contain mandatory parameters (sorting conditions), which classifies products into subcategories.

It is possible to use only the set of parameters already defined for the given category. If an unknown parameter is added, the system evaluates it as an error.

The shirt category has a unique ID (NA073) and is divided into 2 subcategories, women's and men's. The ID covers the main category of the shirts and only the sorting condition or the mandatory parameter DETERMINATION = women's / DETERMINATION = men is added. Therefore, for this example, by using the category ID and one mandatory parameter the product will be placed in the correct subcategory.

The category conditions need to be filled in properly. If only one of the conditions is used (e.g. only the category ID) the product may not be included and displayed on the website.

Parameters and parameter values

We use numeric parameters with s predefined unit (e.g. kg, l, ml, etc.). The second group we use is alphanumeric parameters where the value is in the form of a text. Each alphanumeric parameter contains a set of predefined values that can be used.

It is necessary to use the value defined by us and its exact wording. Custom values are not allowed due to the consistency of the display of values on our website. You can find more about the issue of validity of values and searching through these values here.

If the alphanumeric parameter does not have predefined values, you can enter your own relevant value.

With the help of parameters, the customer can better filter the search results. The parameters can be found on our website directly in the list of products within one category or subcategory.

If you cannot find a suitable parameter, enter the information in the long product description.

We recommend filling in as many parameters as possible.

Creation of variant products using parameters and their values

You also use parameters and their values to create product variants.

Women's t-shirt has different colors and sizes. It is therefore necessary to create variants based on these attributes. It is necessary to assign the Size parameter, the Color parameter and their values to each variant. Then mark the parameter as variant. Then the variant product is created correctly.

A maximum of 2 parameters can be marked as variants.

The technical implementation of categories, parameters, values, sorting conditions and the creation of variant products differs according to the type of connection you use.
Details can be found in the instructions for each type of connection:

Category section in the MALL Partner portal

More detailed information about individual categories can be found in the MALL Partner portal in the section "Category"

You can search directly in individual sections or by entering a keyword or category ID.

The categories in this section directly reflect the layout on the website, so it is possible to search for a suitable category directly on our website.

After searching for a category, you will find the Mandatory and Additional data valid for the given category. As an example, we chose the category Dog Treats.

Mandatory data is necessary for the correct classification of the product into the category and consist of the category ID (SAP ID) and classification conditions, which are added to the products as parameters, as already mentioned in the chapter above.

The sorting conditions are different for each category, there could be three mandatory parameters or none. We therefore recommend that you always check the category in this section or through the API.

Failure to comply with the category conditions is the most common reason why the product will not be displayed on the web. Therefore, in case this happens, always carefully check whether you have correctly fulfilled the conditions of the given category.

Therefore, the following sorting conditions must be used for this example:
NJ015 - Category ID

  1. Sorting condition
    DOG - parameter ID
Dog - web name of the parameter
    is equal to - condition
Yes - value for the given parameter
  2. Sorting conditions
    TYPE- parameter ID
Type- web name of the parameter
    is equal to - condition
treat - value for the given parameter

Additional data contains other parameters that the given category contains and can be used.

Fill in as many parameters as possible on your part, the customer can filter the search results based on these parameters. A product with unassigned parameters automatically drops out of this search and loses competitiveness.

In the Additional data you will only find the names of the predefined parameters for the given category. You can download the complete set of values in XLS or JSON. This download includes a complete details about the given category, including conditions, all parameters and values.

You can also view the category on the MALL/Mimovrste website.

Category section for API connection

For the API connection type, the categories can be searched via individual API calls. You can search for conditions for a given category via the endpoint here.
